The Kenwood Depot – A Historical Place to Celebrate!
The Kenwood Depot is a Sonoma County historic landmark. It was once a working train station for both the Northern Pacific and the Southern Pacific railroad until 1947.
The Depot interior consists of an approximately 1,000 square foot hall with a fireplace. There is a half-kitchen/bar area as well as a second full kitchen including two ranges and refrigerators. The Depot has a spacious, oak-floored hall and classically gracious atmosphere. The exterior event space includes a brick BBQ and an extensive patio. Tables and chairs are also available for use at an additional fee upon request.
At the Depot, you choose how you spend your money. You are renting the facility, which comes with tables and chairs, and the rest is up to you. Many fine caterers have used our kitchen facility and find it serves them well.
The building is in a quaint setting in a semi-rural area with views of the surrounding hills, neighboring vineyards, and the quiet beauty of the Valley of the Moon. The Depot is beautiful and architecturally unusual and the woodwork inside makes it quite classic. It needs very little decorating, but hooks are provided around all the windows, including our beautiful half-circle window. You can utilize these hooks for decorating and use anything else that will not mar the paint.
Even though located in a semi-rural environment, the Depot is easily accessible off Highway 12. The Depot is located about 1/3 of a mile from Highway 12, on Warm Springs Road in Kenwood.
The rental fee covers the facility, tables and chairs. You must provide a certificate of insurance for $1,000,000 which is obtainable through an existing homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy, usually provided for a nominal fee. A $250 security deposit is also required with the contract to reserve the space.
Friday, Saturday or Sunday rentals start at 10:00AM and ends at midnight . If you need hours before or after those times, the rental fee per hour is $50. We cannot adjust the hours of the rental.
Your choice of caterers, florists, etc. is totally up to you. There are many to choose from in the area for all price ranges and tastes.
The Depot does have an outdoor barbecue, which you may use. You may also have a barbecue service come to the site.
